Elf on the Shelf Accessories Crochet Pattern

Our family’s Elf on the shelf has been roaming around the house for a few days and the kids are loving it! This year our elf is sporting some new yarn made accessories, so of course I had to share the pattern. Materials

  • Med Worsted #4 Yarn
  • 4 mm crochet hook or hook size that fits your elf.
  • Light weight #3 Yarn (for chefs hat and apron)
  • Mini Pompom maker or your favourite technique
  • 8” piece of ½” wide ribbon
  • Scissors
  • stitch marker

Pompom Hat

Notes: 

  • Med Worsted #4 Yarn
  • Pattern starts at the tip and ends with the cuff.
  • Work in Continuous rounds, do not join, use a stitch marker to mark the start of each round.

Rnd 1: 4 sc in Magic Ring, do not join.

Rnd 2-3: sc in ea st (4)

Rnd 9: *sc inc, 2 sc* rep twice (8)

Rnd 10-11: sc in ea st

Rnd 12: *sc inc, 3 sc* rep twice (10)

Rnd 13-14: sc in ea st

Rnd 15: *sc inc, 4 sc* rep twice (12)

Rnd 16: sc in ea st

Rnd 17: *sc inc, 5 sc* rep twice (14)

Rnd 19: *sc inc, 4 sc* 3 times (18)

Change Colour maybe add ‘change to cuff color’ 

Rnd 29: sc in ea st

Rnd 30: FPsc in ea st, ch 1, TURN.

Rnd 31: sc in ea st, slst in 1st st, FO, weave in ends. 

Use the tail from the magic circle  sew hat curved downward 

Make a mini pompom and attach it to the hat. 

Scarf

Notes: 

  • Work in Rows, turn after each row.
  • Increase or decrease starting chain if you would like a shorter or longer scarf
  • Med Worsted #4 Yarn 

Ch 52 

Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook and ea ch across.

Row 2: ch 2, turn, dc in ea st across, FO.

Cut 12-15 pieces 4-5” long to loop around the ends to make fringe .

Apron

Notes: 

  • Work in Rows, turn after each row.
  • 4mm hook – #3 yarn
  • Weave ribbon through every other dc in row 10 or you can ch 30 and use that instead.

Ch 20

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in the next 5 sts, the remaining chain will be sewn to make the neck strap, ch 1, turn. (6)

Row 2-5: sc in ea st, ch 1, turn. (6)

Row 6: sc inc, 4 sc, sc inc, ch 1, turn. (8)

Row 7- 9: sc in ea st, turn. (8)

Row 10: ch 3 (counts as st), dc in ea st, ch 1, turn.

Row 11: *sc inc, sc, sc inc*, 2 sc, rep between*, finish in top of ch 3, ch 1, turn. (12)

Row 12-16: sc in ea st, ch 1, turn. (12)

Row 17: sc inc, 10 sc, sc inc, ch 1, turn. (14)

Row 18-22: sc in ea st, ch 1, turn. (14)

FO, weave in ends and sew the remaining chain to first sc in row 1 to form neck strap.

Chef Hat

Notes: 

  • Work in Rounds, join at the end of each round.
  • 4mm hook – #3 yarn 

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR, sl st to join, ch 1. (6)

Rnd 2: sc inc in ea st, sl st to join, ch 1. (12)

Rnd 3: sc inc in ea st, sl st to join, ch 1. (24)

Rnd 4: *sc, sc inc* rep around, sl st to join, ch 1. (36)

Rnd 5-6: sc in ea st, sl st to join, ch 1. (36)

Rnd 7: *sc, sc inc* rep around, sl st to join, ch 1. (54)

Rnd 8: *2 sc, sc inc* rep around, sl st to join, ch 1. (72)

Rnd 9-12: sc in ea st, sl st to join, ch 1. (72)

Circle should be slightly buckled, measuring 5”(13 cm) across circle, Adjust hook size for proper fit.  

Rnd 13: sc dec in ea st around, sl st to join, ch 1. (36)

Rnd 14: sc dec in ea st around, sl st to join, ch 1. (18)

Rnd 15: FP sc in ea st around, sl st to join, ch 1. (18)

Rnd 16-18: sc in ea st, sl st to join, ch 1, FO, Weave in ends. (18)

Hammock

Notes: 

  • Work in Rows, turn after each row.
  • The center mesh is worked first, then the two hanging ends.
  • Med Worsted #4 Yarn

Ch 19

Row 1: dc in the fifth ch from hook, *ch 1, skip ch st, dc in next ch,* rep from * to end of ch, dc in the last st. (9 dc – ch 4 counts as a dc + ch)

Row 2: ch 4 (counts as a dc + ch), turn, *dc in next dc from prev row, skp ch st, ch 1* rep to the last st, skp first ch st of turning ch, dc in st. 

Row 3-12: rep row 2

Row 13: ch 3 (counts as a st), turn, *dc in next dc from previous row, skp ch sts, DO NOT ch between sts* rep to the last st, skp first ch st of turning ch, dc in st. 

Row 14: ch 3 (counts as a st), turn, dc dec 4 times, work last sts in to the top of the ch 3 from prev row. (5 sts)

Row 15: ch 1, turn, sc dec, sc, sc dec (3 sts)

Row 16: ch 1, turn, sc in ea st

Row 17: ch 5, turn, sl st to join to the third st, FO, weave in ends.

Join to the opposite end of work to the first stitch of the starting ch from row 1. Repeat from row 13-17 on the opposite end of work, FO, weave in ends.
